I used to think learning was supposed to be a grind—textbooks, rote memorization, dry lectures.

That’s how it was when I studied urban planning. But while my classes focused on zoning laws and regulations, my mind was elsewhere—on spatial psychology, the invisible forces shaping how people move through cities. That curiosity stuck with me.

So did my frustration with traditional learning.

I tried to force myself through dense material, but it never clicked the way real-world experiences did. That’s why, when I decided to learn Spanish, I didn’t bury myself in grammar drills—I packed a bag and moved abroad. I learned by ordering coffee (a ritual for me), by getting lost, by making awkward mistakes in real conversations.

That experience changed the way I saw learning forever.

It should feel immersive, not like a chore.

When AI came onto the scene, I saw an opportunity—not to replace learning, but to reshape it. I started using AI for deep research, to break down complex topics, to practice languages in a way that felt engaging.

I even used it to analyze my nutrition and (begrudgingly) help me get over my aversion to cooking. AI didn’t just speed up the process—it made it more dynamic, more tailored, more like discovery.

The Reason I Started AILG

The problem isn’t a lack of information—it’s too much of the wrong kind.

Courses that don’t connect to real-world needs. Resources that overcomplicate instead of clarify. Learning that feels like a list of boxes to check instead of something that transforms you.

I started The AI Learning Guy (AILG) because I wanted to change that.

I experiment, I test, I refine—and then I share what works.
